(nee Johnson) Age 57. Jill Niemczyk (RN) Marine wife, mother, healthcare professional and volunteer passed away Sunday March 6, 2005, when she lost her short struggle with cancer. Jill will be missed by friends from around the United States and around the World.

Jill was a graduate of Madison West Senior High School and the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing. She set up 14 households in 8 states and 2 foreign countries, she contributed positively in each through her volunteer efforts. Some of those volunteer efforts included services at the Red Cross as a special liaison for a hospital and orphanage in Izmir, Turkey, and leader in the Boy and Girl Scouts. More recently, she was a volunteer with the Wisconsin Humane Society and the American Red Cross where she was a disaster response nurse. Her Red Cross activities included two months helping staff Respite One at Ground Zero in New York City, assisting tornado victims this past year near Waupun, and numerous Special Olympic events.

Jill is survived by her husband Nick, three children Christopher of Honolulu, HI; Laura of Ellensberg, WA; and Michael of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by her grandson Joe, her parents Elmer and Loretta Johnson, one sister Becky (Chris) Tietze and one brother Bob Johnson. Jill was preceded in death by a daughter.
